McElroy named PCL player of the week

For the second time in three weeks, a Triple-A El Paso Chihuahua is the Pacific Coast Player of the Week. This time, the honor went to infielder Casey McElroy, who hit a circuit-best .500 (14-for-28) with nine RBIs and a Minor League Baseball-best 14 hits. The 26-year-old second baseman scored 11 runs, totaled 21 extra-base hits – all after start the year in a 1-for-13 skid.

A former 11th-round pick out of Auburn (2011), McElroy has at least two hits in eight of his last nine contests and is hitting .514 (18-for-35) since April 26. For the season, McElroy is hitting .
