Lamet leaves healthy in Padres’ 2-1 loss to Pirates

Dinelson Lamet made his second start of the season, and his first since leaving his season debut early on April 21, but was held to a pretty strict pitch count. After getting pulled with forearm tightness two weeks ago, Lamet was pulled after throwing 30 pitches in two scoreless innings with four hits allowed. Mitch Keller and the Pirates’ bullpen limited the Friars to just one run on four hits with Keller fanning five in just under six innings.

Ryan Weathers, the original starter for the evening, followed Lamet on the mound immediately gave up a run by way of back-to-back doubles to begin the third.
