It’s official: Baseball is back

The news we’ve been waiting three months for has finally been announced. On Tuesday, Major League Baseball announced that the 2020 MLB season will be played this year, starting on either July 23 or 24.

After commissioner Rob Manfred chose to implement a schedule of his choosing, he decided on a 60-game schedule with players required to report to their home stadiums on July 1 to prepare for the resumption of the season.

Health and safety protocols will be of the utmost importance this season, with a number of guidelines being put into place. One of those being the restriction of spitting, of any kind, which includes sunflower seeds, peanut shells, and chewing tobacco.
