He’s finally the Padres’ Pham

The trade between the Rays and Padres is complete, five days after it was completed.

Discussions between the teams in the past day regarding the Padres’ concerns over the health of Pham’s elbow have led to the deal going forward as initially agreed upon.

That means the Padres will get Tommy Pham, who they intend to put in left field and near the top of their batting order, and minor league infielder/pitcher Jake Cronenworth in exchange for outfielder Hunter Renfroe, minor league infielder Xavier Edwards and a player to be named later.

The sides agreed to the trade Thursday night and officially announced it Friday.
