For the third time in his last four outings, Dylan Cease turned in a less than stellar pitching performance for the San Diego Padres. This time, it came against the Philadelphia Phillies as the Padres dropped the second game of the doubleheader and final game of the series, 5-1 at Citizens Bank Park, Wednesday.

Cease navigated the first three innings against the Phillies without significant trouble. However, that changed in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Padres provided Cease with a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth after Fernando Tatis Jr. beat out an infield single, stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error.
