Bullpen lets game to slip away after solid Nick Pivetta start

The San Diego Padres outhit the Seattle Mariners, but the Mariners walked off the field with a 4-1 win at Petco Park, Saturday.

Nick Pivetta started on the mound for the Padres and was efficient. He completed six innings and allowed one run on two hits with one walk and seven strikeouts. One of the two hits allowed by Pivetta was a Rowdy Tellez home run to right-center in the top of the fifth inning.

The home run by Tellez was an immediate response to a home run by Gavin Sheets in the bottom of the fourth inning that put the Padres up 1-0.
