As of this morning, Joe Maddon has officially become the new manager of the Angels, meaning that SoCal’s other manager-seeking team is likely going to have to settle for less sexy options.
Enter: Bob Henley.
As a longtime member of the Nats front office and coaching staff, Henley is probably best known for...well, actually, I suppose people don’t really know him for anything in particular. He’s Bob Henley. He’s currently the Nats third base coach.
The list of Padre managerial interviewees now includes Henley, Ron Washington, former Angels manager Brad Ausmus, Padres interim manager Rod Barajas, and Rangers employee Jayce Tingler.
