The 2025 MLB Draft takes place over two days (July 13-14) during All-Star Week. It consists of 20 rounds total over the two days with the first three rounds, compensatory picks and competitive balance picks occurring on the first night.
It will be broadcast live on ESPN and MLB Network for the first 43 selections at 3 pm PT. The remaining 62 picks of the first day will be on MLB Network and simulcast on MLB.com. The 4th through the 20th rounds will be on MLB.com starting at 8:30 am on the 14th.
The San Diego Padres will pick 25th on the first night of the draft but will not have a second round pick, as that was the penalty for signing Nick Pivetta during the offseason after he received a qualifying offer from the Red Sox.
