The San Antonio Spurs have basically won NBA free agency by convincing big man LaMarcus Aldridge to leave the Portland Trail Blazers on a multi-year deal. Yet, the cap ramifications of his four-year, $80 million deal has a chance (albeit, a small one) of leading to some casualities on the Spurs' current roster.

However, although the information hasn't been released to the public just yet, it appears Manu Ginobili's two-year, $5.7 million deal will utilize the team's room exception -- giving the Spurs nearly $3 million of wiggle room to get Duncan's contract under the cap and keep both Diaw and Mills.
So, there's no reason for panic yet in Spurs Land. But, the trade option is still looming if finances dictate as such.Back to the San Antonio Spurs Newsfeed
