After years of rebuilding, the San Antonio Spurs finally appear ready to contend for a championship this season and for years to come. However, according to the Ringer's Zach Lowe, the Spurs may not be guaranteed a long run with their current core.
Lowe, himself, is very high on Spurs star Victor Wembanyama and his fit with De'Aaron Fox. He is even a big fan of Stephon Castle, though several executives aren't sold that Wembanyama will be able to have the same longevity that other superstars have.
Lowe stated that he's spoken with executives around the NBA who believe the Spurs should accelerate rebuilding around Wembanyama and assume his career will only be 8-12 years.
