SAN ANTONIO – Still reeling from the news that star player Kawhi Leonard has entered the NBA’s concussion protocol, the Spurs suffered another blow when they learned second-leading scorer LaMarcus Aldridge will be sidelined indefinitely with a heart ailment.
The Spurs announced Saturday morning Aldridge is out after an occurrence of minor heart arrhythmia.
“All parties have concluded that at the current time it is best for Aldridge to refrain from play until further tests and examinations are completed,” the Spurs said in a statement. “The Spurs will provide updates as appropriate.”
Aldridge is the Spurs’ second-leading scorer, averaging 17.
