Speaking in an interview last week Duncan’s remarks about re-considering his choice was recanted with ‘I’m pretty sure I’ll stay retired’, before the conversation moved along.
That dashed the hopes of some who had a glimmer of hope that Duncan might begin to miss the game at any point during the season and have enough drive to lace up his Adidas one more time. For the rest of us, we’re slowly coming to the realization that the NBA will be a bit weird. Some legends we’ve watched for some time now will no longer be there, and players we watched grow into stars are leaving the game.
