The young Spurs are still learning how to finish close contests

The Silver and Black are now 2-6, their worst start since they finished 20-62 and secured the first overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft. But with more than 70 games remaining on their regular-season schedule and an easier slate of opponents on the horizon, head coach Gregg Popovich and crew have more than enough time to turn things.

Despite sitting near the bottom of the Western Conference standings, San Antonio is probably a better team than their record suggests. Though the Spurs have seen welcoming spikes in production from Dejounte Murray, Keldon Johnson, and Devin Vassell, this young and inexperienced squad has struggled to close out winnable contests.
