For those who continue to believe that there are plans to move the Spurs away from San Antonio — be it simply up the road to or nearer to Austin (bad idea for IH-35 traffic, which is constantly crippled regardless of the time or day), or a frequently debunked conspiracy theory that the younger Holt generation is trying to sell off their father’s team — rest assured: it’s not happening any time soon.
That’s because Spurs Sports & Entertainment just presented its plans for the Human Performance Center to the Bexar County Commissioner’s office, which would be a new, state-of-the-art training complex, complete with medical and research offices, retail, park and community space located near the Shops at La Cantera off Loop 1604 and IH-10 on the far Northwest side.
