Spurs to be without six players in Dallas

SAN ANTONIO – With an eye toward entering the playoffs rested and healthy, the second-seeded Spurs are taking a skeleton crew to Dallas for Friday’s game against the Mavericks.

The Spurs announced Thursday that LaMarcus Aldridge (rest), Pau Gasol (rest), Manu Ginobili (right quad contusion), Danny Green (left quad contusion), Kawhi Leonard (rest) and Dejounte Murray (groin) will sit out the contest, which marks the first of the club’s final four regular-season games.

Tony Parker hinted after Wednesday’s win over the Lakers the Spurs would take a short-handed team to Dallas and then play a full squad when they host the Clippers on Saturday.
