Spurs’ players will support Pop’s decision on Leonard, Mills says

HOUSTON – Spurs point guard Patty Mills wanted no part of a conversation centered on speculation that coach Gregg Popovich could keep injured All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard out of Game 6 Thursday night to have him in better health for a possible Game 7 Sunday.

“This is the most important game of the season for us,” Mills said. “We’re not talking about anything else. All our focus is on this.”

Still, Mills acknowledged the above scenario hasn’t been ruled out. With a win tonight over the Rockets, the Spurs
will advance to the Western Conference finals for the first time since 2014, when they won their last NBA championship.
