MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Spurs guard Manu Ginobili couldn’t keep his emotions to himself Friday while watching a basketball game on his phone during the bus drive from the airport to the team’s downtown hotel.
But unlike his teammates, the game Ginobili was monitoring had nothing to do with the NCAA Tournament.
“I was screaming when they made a big shot and stuff like that,” Ginobili said Saturday. “They said, ‘Are you following March Madness?’ And I said, ‘No, nothing to do with it. Completely different thing.’
“So I was fired up, but for a different reason than most of the guys.
