SAN ANTONIO – Spurs guard Patty Mills suggested the Grizzlies are an NBA anomaly when it comes to their style of play.
“It’s the old school, blue collar basketball,” he said after shootaround Saturday morning. “They just grind you all night.”
“Grind you all night” is also a euphemism for physical play that can get under an opponents’ skin.
With that said, Mills said the Spurs must be on guard against complaining to the refs about Memphis being too physical.
