Spurs continue to focus on themselves even as Warriors slump

NEW ORLEANS – With Kevin Durant sidelined, the league-leading Golden State Warriors are proving vulnerable – not that it matters to the Spurs.

The Warriors lost their second-straight game Thursday night, meaning the Spurs entered Friday trailing the two-time West champions by just two games in the loss column and three games in the standings.

Coach Gregg Popovich says the Spurs aren’t going to get caught up in scoreboard watching, a stance some of his players echoed Friday morning at the team’s shootaround.

“We are just focused on what we need to do every game, making sure we get better as a team,” center Dewayne Demon said.
