Spurs’ ball security excellent over last two games

SAN ANTONIO – Much to the delight of coach Gregg Popovich, the Spurs committed just seven turnovers in Saturday’s 102-85 trouncing of the Charlotte Hornets, matching the season low they established just two days earlier in a 127-99 rout at Denver.

With their outstanding ball security, the Spurs beat the Hornets at their own game. Charlotte entered the contest ranked first in the NBA in fewest turnovers committed (11.8 per outing). The Hornets have led the league in that category the
last three seasons under coach Steve Clifford (12.5 in 2015-16, 11.9 in 2014-15 and 12.3 in 2013-14).
