LaMarcus Aldridge reported to the Spurs’ film and recovery session Sunday morning feeling no worse for wear. This was no small news, considering his 48-minute wrestling match with Memphis’ Marc Gasol less than 24 hours earlier.
Gasol scored 32 points in the Grizzlies’ postseason opener against the Spurs. Aldridge, however, got the last laugh with 20 points in a 111-82 Spurs romp.
Aldridge and Gasol went at each other all night long. Neither looked too pleased with the physicality of the other.
“They’re a physical team,” said Aldridge, who is opening his third straight postseason against Memphis.
