The San Antonio Spurs may see Kawhi Leonard return soon. On Monday, before the Detroit Pistons game, Leonard made some of his first public comments about his quad injury, noting he felt good but still had a step or two before officially playing a regular-season game.
Tuesday was an off day, which created speculation for the former MVP candidate’s return on Wednesday, Dec. 6 against the Miami Heat. It’s another home game, too, the logical location for him to come back.
However, nearly 24 hours before this game, the Spurs announced Leonard’s status for Wednesday’s tilt: the team’s superstar will not play.
