After slipping out of the first round of the 2020 Draft and into PATFO’s lap at the 41st overall pick, Tre Jones has quietly exceeded expectations with the San Antonio Spurs during his first go-round.
The 21-year-old point guard has participated in more games and recorded more minutes for the Silver and Black than any second-round rookie since Davis Bertans appeared in 67 outings in 2016-17.
Although the first-year floor general has seen most of his opportunities come during garbage time, Jones has steadily progressed towards earning a role within head coach Gregg Popovich’s rotation.
