San Antonio Spurs earn third straight win despite Zion Williamson’s debut in NOLA

Coming into tonight’s matchup, none of the national attention was actually on the San Antonio Spurs, who entered the game with a better record and, quite frankly, a better team than the Pelicans. Outside of Spurs fans, the country had one thing on the mind: 2019 No. 1 pick Zion Williamson, who made his NBA debut against the foundational team of the Southwest Division.

And as they have throughout the year, the Spurs persevered for their third consecutive win with five players in double-figures and a strong shooting line as a team (50.6/40.7/80.0). Despite shooting seven less free throws than New Orleans, San Antonio managed to outscore the Pelicans in 3-of-4 quarters.
