Rockets’ D’Antoni on AT&T Center: ‘There are some bad memories here’

SAN ANTONIO – Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni is glad he’s getting “another shot” at exorcising the Spurs ghosts that have haunted him for so long.

D’Antoni-coached teams have lost playoff series four times to Gregg Popovich and the Spurs. He addressed that troublesome topic after Houston’s shootaround Monday morning at the AT&T Center, where the Spurs will host Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals Monday night.

“San Antonio is always a big, big problem,” D’Antoni said. “They’ve been a big hurdle for the last 20 years, so I get another shot at it.”

D’Antoni agreed with a reporter who asked him if being at the AT&T Center felt like he was “returning to the scene of crime.
