DALLAS – Patty Mills was prepared to take the blame if the Spurs ruined their perfect record on the road.
Trailing by three early in the fourth, the Spurs’ defensive miscues spotted the Dallas Mavericks seven quick points, leaving the visitors with an eight-point deficit.
“I wasn’t happy at all with that,” said Mills. “I knew if we lost the game, it was because of that.”
Mills made sure that sequence wouldn’t cost the Spurs, though, as he scored a team-high 23 points helping the team escape American Airlines Center with a 94-87 win over the Mavericks.
