Gregg Popovich did not anticipate anything to carry over from a recent victory over the Dallas Mavericks into the contest against the Washington Wizards.
“Every game is different from the previous game,” Popovich said.
He was right. The Spurs didn’t need a fourth quarter explosion this time around, received a solid performance from Pau Gasol (19 points, 10 rebounds), and a game-winning basket from Kawhi Leonard to beat the Wizards, 107-105, Friday night at AT&T Center.
Leonard finished the game with a team-high 23 points and five rebounds, while LaMarcus Aldridge added 19 points and five rebounds.
