Kawhi Leonard proved yet again why he’s the consummate Spur when a reporter asked him Tuesday for his thoughts on Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal saying he’s the second-best player in the world behind LeBron James.
“I’m trying to be the best team in the world right now,” Leonard said after the Spurs’ 116-103 win over Memphis in Game 5. “It’s not about me. It’s about the Spurs.”
Leonard has played incredible basketball in his team’s first-round playoff series. He’s scored over 30 points in three of the games (32 points in Game 1, 37 in Game 2 and a postseason career-high 43 in Game 4).
