On February 20, 2008, Sam Presti sent power forward/center Kurt Thomas to San Antonio for Francisco Elson, Brent Barry, and the Spurs 2009 first round draft pick. By the time of the draft, the Sonics had been renamed the Oklahoma City Thunder.
