Gasol injury threatens Spurs' standing as NBA's second-best team

The San Antonio Spurs have been at it again. While everyone was fascinated by the nightly triple-double chase between James Harden and (All-Star starting snub) Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant's assimilation into the Golden State juggernaut, and continued Carmelo/Phil Jackson drama, San Antonio has once again emerged as the second-best team in the NBA, behind only the aforementioned juggernaut.

The quiet dominance of the Spurs took a hit Thursday, however, when Pau Gasol injured his hand during warmups. Losing the 36-year-old center, who is out indefinitely, presents some unique challenges for the Spurs in trying to maintain their stealth dominance.
