The San Antonio Spurs’ Week of Hell begins in earnest tonight against the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers.
The next five games will pair the Spurs against LeBron, Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors, Russell Westbrook’s Oklahoma City Thunder, Gordon Hayward’s Utah Jazz and the Grit-N-Grind Memphis Grizzlies. That’s five games against five playoff teams in a span of eight days.
Claiming the No. 1 seed will take at least three victories (and probably more) in this week long stretch. We’ll learn quite a bit about the mettle of the team, and the purported importance of playing for the top seed depends on Gregg Popovich’s inclination to rest players in certain situations.
