Finally sporting ‘fresh legs,’ Parker sparked Spurs with his long-range shooting

SAN ANTONIO – Spurs point guard Tony Parker had a simple explanation for the season-high three 3-pointers he sank in the third quarter of the Spurs’ 112-110 come-from-behind win over Houston on Monday.

“I was just wide open and knocked down those shots,” he said.

Down seven at halftime, the Spurs outscored the Rockets 34-28 in the third period to enter the fourth trailing, 82-81. Parker finished the third with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field, including 3 of 5 from long range.

His back-to-back 3s from the corner in a 30-second span highlighted a 20-4 run that propelled the Spurs to a 73-71 lead with 3:30 left in the third.
