SAN ANTONIO – One of the unsung heroes in the Spurs’ improbable 100-95 win at Oklahoma City last Friday was backup big man David Lee, who finished with eight points, eight rebounds, including five on the offensive end, three assists and a steal.
The effort cast a spotlight on a player bench leader Manu Ginobili labeled an “amazing” find for the Spurs.
“We didn’t know what to expect from David,” Ginobili said. “We knew he could play, but the last couple of years he was not finding his spot with teams. But he has been great, a big part of the second unit.
