As the trade deadline approaches, a monsoon of players are being thrown around as potential targets. While the Spurs may not be among the few looking for a huge splash, they could look to add some talent around the edges. Agreeing with that sentiment, ESPN included San Antonio among their list of contenders who could add a player before time expires.
However, the player that ESPN insiders deemed most fit for the Spurs came straight out of left field. Not known to be available, San Antonio would be acquiring Jaylen Wells from the Memphis Grizzlies. Although it was a shock at first, I have come to love the prospect of making this deal happen.
