D’Antoni discusses Beverley’s return; contrast between Rockets, Spurs practice plans

SAN ANTONIO – Rockets guard Patrick Beverley participated in the team’s shootaround Tuesday morning at the AT&T Center after spending Monday in Chicago with family members mourning the death of his grandfather.

Rheese Morris, who Beverley said raised him, died Sunday just hours before Game 4. Beverley finished the 125-104 win with 10 points, six assists and four rebounds after his family encouraged him to stay in Houston and play the game.

“It’s tough,” Houston coach Mike D’Antoni said after shootaround. “Life happens at the same time this is going on. And you have to deal with life.
