SAN ANTONIO – Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley is bracing for the Spurs throwing another wave of defenders at him Monday night in Game 2.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich had several players take turns defending Conley in Game 1’s 111-82 Spurs romp, including Tony Parker, Danny Green, two-time defending NBA defensive player of the year Kawhi Leonard and Jonathon Simmons.
“They did a good job of putting a fresh body on me, and I guess I’ve got to be mentally prepared for it,” said Conley, who finished with 13 points, all in the first half and seven fewer than what he averaged in the regular season.
