NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The Saint Mary's men's and women's cross country teams both had strong individual and team showings Friday in their biggest, most competitive meet of the year so far, competing at the Joe Piane Invitational at the University of Notre Dame.

- The Saint Mary's men finished third running the five-mile race in a deep field of 20 teams that included six regionally ranked squads. The Gaels downed regionally ranked teams Indiana State, Marshall, Tulane and UTEP.
