SAN JOSE, Calif. — Saint Mary's (2-4) went down to the final set in a road match with San Jose State (7-0) but came just short in a narrow 4-3 loss.
The Gaels earned the doubles point by getting wins from their No. 2 and 3 tandems. Jocelyn Massey and Aubane Ville rolled to a 6-0 victory on Court 2 and then Jordan Harris and Liesl Pieters finished the job in a close 7-5 match. Mariia Kozyreva and Danielle McIntyre were also edged on Court 1 by a 7-5 score.
