BERKELEY, Calif. - Saint Mary's Women's Tennis took two out of three matches against Santa Clara University on Saturday and split eight matches with Cal Poly in the singles bracket at the Channing Tennis Courts at Cal on Saturday.
The combo of and defeated Jamie Schroer and Varya Zlotnik 8-4 and and beat Cami Brown and Lindsey Pesqueira 8-5.
On the singles side defeated Kim Bhunu 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 and topped Laura Bente 3-6, 7-5, 7-6(3). The Gaels also had victories from over Emily Ackerman 6-3, 6-2 and beat Melissa LaMette 6-2, 6-1.
The tournament started an hour late on day one due to due to a damp court in the morning from fog and morning dew, so the matches were intentionally started an hour later at 10 a.
