MORAGA, Calif. — The Gaels got off to a great start in their match against No. 5 Pepperdine on Friday by taking the doubles point but couldn't keep the momentum rolling in singles play and ultimately fell, 6-1.
The Gaels (4-7, 2-3 WCC) earned the doubles point with wins on Courts 1 and 3. Mariia Kozyreva and Danielle McIntyre teamed up as SMC's No. 1 team to dominate their opponents in 6-1 fashion before Jordan Harris and Lene Mari Hovda got the job done on Court 3 with a close 7-5 victory.
