SEATTLE — Senior Jamie Pawid won her second straight singles match in as many days Sunday to finish the weekend unbeaten in singles and doubles, but the Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team finished with a split in Seattle, falling 6-1 to host No. 34 Washington at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
Pawid earned a tiebreaker victory at No. 2 singles over the Huskies’ (9-1) Stacey Fung. Pawid won a tight first set, 7-5, but dropped the second set 6-1. She surged back in the tiebreaker though, winning 10-4 to finish the weekend 3-0 overall. She was also victorious on Saturday in both singles and doubles with partner Jana McCord.
