MORAGA, Calif. — The final match of the 2016 regular season will be the Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team’s most important, as it travels to Provo, Utah, to face BYU Friday and vies for a spot in the 2016 West Coast Conference Championships on April 28-30.
With a victory Friday, the Gaels (8-10, 5-3 WCC) will guarantee themselves the No. 2 seed in the WCC Championships. But a defeat could potentially leave them out of the tournament all together, with six teams all within 1 1/2 matches of each other trying to earn the final five spots.
