CLAREMONT, Calif. — The third-seeded Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the 2016 West Coast Conference Championship Tournament Thursday with a 4-2 victory over No. 6 seed San Francisco at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
Saint Mary’s will face No. 2 seed Gonzaga at 2 p.m. Friday for a chance to go to Saturday’s championship. Fans can follow live scoring and get tournament information at the WCC Championship page. No. 4 seed Santa Clara also advanced Thursday, beating No. 5 BYU, 4-3.
The win came down to the wire for the Gaels (9-10-1).
