SAN BRUNO, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team was chosen to finish second in this year’s West Coast Conference title race, and senior Jamie Pawid was named to the All-WCC Preseason Team in the WCC Preseason poll and team announced Wednesday by the conference.
The Gaels, ranked No. 47 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings also released Wednesday, received 70 points to come in second in the poll. Reigning conference champion and No. 18 ranked Pepperdine received all nine possible first place votes and received the maximum 81 points possible to be picked as this year’s favorite to win the title again.
