BERKELEY, Calif. — Two singles players into the semifinals and three doubles teams moving on to their respective finals highlighted the Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team’s second day at the Cal Nike Invitational Saturday at Hellman Tennis Complex and the Channing Tennis Courts.
Freshman Jacqueline Pelletier continued to impress in her first collegiate tournament. Seeded No. 2 in the Gold Singles bracket, Pelletier beat Juliane Triebe of Fresno State, 6-4, 6-4, in Saturday’s quarterfinal to advance to Sunday’s semis. Parminder Kaur was also in the Gold Singles quarters, but barely fell in a close match to Arizona State’s Kelley Anderson, 7-5, 7-5.
