MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine put up two goals in the first half, and quickly scored another two minutes into the second half to defeat SMC 3-0 in Malibu, Calif. on Saturday.
Emma Barthel had the first shot of the contest just a minute into the game that missed to the left of the goal, but Pepperdine would begin to pepper the Gaels with shots from there. The Waves attempted six shots before breaking through on their seventh, then had another two attempts before scoring their second goal.
Taylor Poland made four great saves for the Gaels before Pepperdine's first goal, but they would go up 1-0 Tori Waldeck's fifth goal of the season in the 17th minute.
