STOCKTON, Calif. — A lone goal scored early in the first half was all Pacific needed Sunday, as the Tigers earned a 1-0 victory over the Saint Mary’s women’s soccer team in both teams’ West Coast Conference opener at Knoles Field.
Sandra Padilla fired a shot from 25 yards out 16 minutes into the game and was able to sneak it inside the far right post for a 1-0 Pacific (1-7-1, 1-0 WCC) lead. The assist went to Samia Adam on Padilla’s second goal of the year.
Saint Mary’s (2-8-2, 0-1 WCC) dominated the offense but could not find the back of the net.
