MORAGA, Calif. — On Senior Day at Saint Mary’s Stadium, the Gaels defeated Loyola Marymount (11-5-3, 6-3 WCC) with a 2-1 decision to conclude their 2016 season. Saint Mary’s captured their third conference win with the victory, marking the first time they’ve won three or more conference matches since 2003.
"We are really confident right now and it is a shame this season is over," said Gaels head coach Travis Clarke. "We feel like we can compete with anyone and we felt that the whole season.”
The game-winning goal for the Gaels (5-13-2, 3-6 WCC) came from Jackie Dutton, who assisted on an earlier goal, on a close-range shot to the corner of the net in the 55th minute.
