WSOC | Gaels Fall at Home Versus No. 5 BYU

MORAGA, Calif.— With the rain falling for the majority of the match on a cool day, the Saint Mary’s women’s soccer team could not overcome the constant pressure from No. 5 BYU, as the Gaels dropped a tough 4-0 decision Thursday afternoon.

Saint Mary’s (3-13-2, 1-6 WCC) was only able to create five shots, whereas BYU (14-2-1, 5-1-1 WCC) totaled 21 shots in the 90 minutes. 10 shots went on the SMC goal compared to only two shots on goal for the Gaels.

Gaels keeper Julia McDonald played for 64 minutes and tied a season high of six saves.
