SAN BRUNO, Calif. — After Saint Mary's forward Hannah Diaz scored two goals in the team's perfect opening weekend of conference action, the senior has been named the West Coast Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Diaz scored two game-winning goals to open conference play, and lead the Gaels to a 2-0 start in the WCC for the first time in 16 seasons.
The senior opened the weekend with the game-winner in the 71st minute against Portland as Saint Mary's earned its first home victory against the Pilots since 1989.
